First, lets start with a few digital images taken with a Kodak DC5000 camera. In its highest resolution, the images are 1760x1168. Any digital camera image, image you scan, images created in Photoshop, etc., have content that is square and will display correctly on a square pixel aspect ratio device such as your computer monitor. Image widths and heights can be anything and will depend on your digital camera setting, your scanner setting, or whatever you put into Photoshop to create a new image.
